Why: Sunday, December 7, 2025, marks 84 years since the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Arkansas is one of two locations – the other being Honolulu, Hawaii – with ships present at both the beginning and end of World War II. According to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, of the millions who served, 119,550 World War II veterans are alive today. Around 1,144 World War II veterans live in Arkansas. We hope you will take time to thank a veteran during this historic week, step into their shoes for a day, and educate your family about this pivotal moment in our nation’s history. We hope you can join us to commemorate the 84th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
