Fishing Piers (Burns Park, Big Rock Quarry Park)
There are two fishing piers within our park system. Both are along the Arkansas River. One is in the southwest corner of Burns Park along Catfish Road. The other is on the west end of Big Rock Quarry Park along River Road.
Dog Park (Burns Park)
Located in Burns Park at 4200 Joe K Poch Drive just west of the Tennis Center. There are two fenced-in areas, both with water and plenty of shade.


General Rules of the Dog Park:
- Park hours are sunrise to sunset.
- Dogs must be properly vaccinated, healthy, and free of parasites.
- Dogs must wear rabies and registration tags.
- No more than two (2) dogs per owner.
- No puppies under four (4) months of age.
- Leash dogs while entering and exiting.
- No smoking while inside fenced area.
- Supervise your dogs at all times. You are responsible for injuries inflicted by your dog(s). If your dog(s) causes an injury, give your name and phone number to the other dog owner before leaving the area. Aggressive dogs are not allowed. if aggression occurs, the dog must leave the park immediately.
- Children under 12 years of age must be under strict adult supervision. Do not allow children to run or scream around the dogs.
- Owners should carry a leash for each dogs at all times.
- Dogs in heat are not permitted in the dog park.
- Leaving dogs unattended inside fenced area is prohibited.
- Owners must clean upafter their pets. Scoops or bags, and trash cans ara provided for that purpose.
- Raw hides, food (dog or human) and glass bottles are not permitted in fenced area.
- No littering.

- Dogs must remain on leash at all times outside of the dog park while in Burns Park or other city park.
North Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department maintains this park in conjunction with the North Little Rock Friends of Animals. Donations for the continued development of the park can be made to the Friends of Animals at the North Little Rock Animal Shelter (also located in Burns Park).
Archery Range (Burns Park)
Located in Burns Park off of Arlene Laman Drive. The Archery Range received an upgrade in July 2025, making the range more ADA accessible with paved and covered shooting lines, paved access to targets, arrow and bow holders, and benches. The range offers targets at 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 yards. Additionally, the range offers swappable standard targets and 3-D targets at certain times throughout the week. The range is free to use and is open year-round, Sunday through Saturday, from sunrise to sunset.
- Use Target or Field Tips ONLY! Broadheads, practice broadheads, and razor tipped arrows are prohibited.
- Bows and arrows must be in good working condition prior to using them at the range.
- Youth under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
- Shooting at any creature (living or otherwise) is not allowed on the range or in Burns Park.
- Alcoholic beverages, glass containers, and firearms are not allowed in city parks.
- All trash must be disposed of in the proper containers.
- No shooting while other archers are down range; make sure the range is clear before you nock an arrow. Arrows that go over the berm at the back of the range should be retrieved with a person standing on top of the berm to make sure no arrows are fired.
- Shoot from the marked static line; archers should straddle the line so one foot is on either side. Shoot only at the archery target in your lane.
- When the range is crowded, please limit each round of shooting to 12 arrows, then let another archer have the spot for the next round.
- Do not shoot at a target that has another archer’s arrow already in it without that archer’s permission.
