Fit2Live Program teams up to host City Girls Run, 2K Run/Walk
North Little Rock, Arkansas (Monday October 2, 2023)…The City of North Little Rock Fit2Live Program has teamed up with ARORA and the North Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department to host the 2nd Annual “CITY GIRLS RUN”, 2K Run/Walk at the North Little Rock Riverfront Park at 8:00 am on Saturday, October 14, 2023. The race will begin at 8:00 am at Riverfront Park Drive in North Little Rock and participants will enter the park and follow the route of signs along the Arkansas River Trail.
“We are excited to welcome race participants to our event again this year. We are grateful for the opportunity to provide a community for anyone who has been impacted by breast cancer. Whether you are in treatment, celebrating survivorship, a family member, friend or loved one, we hope you will join us and be part of our collective efforts to bring awareness and end breast cancer forever,” said LaKaisha Shelby, Director of the Fit2Live Program in the City of North Little Rock. Everyone in the community is invited to participate! After the race, attendees are invited to enjoy a FREE brunch, a kid’s corner with a bounce house, as well as music perform by Rodney Block & The R&B Collectives. KOKY’s Sonta Jean will be hosting live for everyone from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Registration is free for anyone wanting to participate.
Fit2Live Program
Fit2Live is an initiative aimed at engaging community leaders and organizations to improve residents’ nutrition and increase their physical activity. The Fit2Live initiative was created in 2009 by the City of North Little Rock and the North Little Rock School District to address the obesity epidemic in our city and make the healthy choice the easy choice for our residents.
