MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Planning Department is to provide proficient and equitable administration of policies, which facilitate new development, redevelopment, and compatible uses of land to ensure growth occurs in a rational and comprehensive manner.
GOALS
- Assist citizens, businesses, elected officials, and other partners to guide decision-making.
- Consistently provide an exceptional customer service experience through planning and permitting services delivered in a responsive, resourceful, and result-oriented manner.
- Improve efficiency in order to reduce time from permit or zoning application to issuance of a building permit or public hearing.
- Enhance staff capabilities, operational processes, and collaboration with city departments and outside agencies.
- Build a high-functioning organization in which staff are engaged, empowered, and working collectively to achieve the department’s mission.
