Heat Exhaustion vs Heat Stroke
Heat Exhaustion
Symptoms of Heat Exhaustion may include:
- Dizziness
- Thirst
- Heavy Sweating
- Nausea or vomiting
- Weakness
- Cold, pale, and clammy skin
- Fast, weak pulse
- Muscle cramps
- Any or all of these can lead to Heat Stroke.
Heat Stroke
Symptoms of Heat Stroke may include:
- High body temperature
- Heavy Sweating
- Hot, red, dry, or damp skin
- Fast, strong pulse
- Headache
- Confusion
- Dizziness
- Passing out and/or becoming unconscious
ACT FAST
- CALL 911
- Move person to cooler area.
- Loosen clothing and remove extra leayers.
- Help lower the person’s temperature with coo, wet cloths or a cool bath.
