Lowe’s Ribbon Cutting October 18th for State-of-the-Art 1.2 Million Sq Ft Distribution Facility In North Little Rock
North Little Rock, AR — Lowe’s, one of the leading home improvement retailers in the United States, is thrilled to announce the completion and ribbon cutting of its impressive 1.2 million square foot distribution facility located at 13101 US-70 in North Little Rock, scheduled to be held on October 18th, 2023, at 1pm. This monumental $120,000,000 project represents a significant investment in the local community and reinforces Lowe’s commitment to enhancing its supply chain capabilities.
The new distribution facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology and modern infrastructure to efficiently manage the distribution of a wide range of home improvement products. “The 1.2 million square-foot facility will enable Lowe’s to provide faster and more predictable deliveries to customers in the South as we continue to grow our distribution network,” Salazar said. “Our new market-based delivery network will enable next-day deliveries for a broader range of products and give customers a more consistent experience.” To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of this massive facility, Lowe’s has partnered with Penske Logistics. Approximately 80 highly skilled employees from Penske Logistics will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the site. These dedicated professionals will work tirelessly to ensure that products reach Lowe’s stores and customers promptly and efficiently. In addition, Lowe’s will also have some of its own employees on-site, further contributing to the success of this distribution center. While the exact number of Lowe’s employees on-site is still being finalized, their presence will undoubtedly play a crucial role in the facility’s overall operations.
The distribution facility is expected to have an average of 50 semi-trucks per day entering and exiting the premises, reflecting the substantial scale and scope of Lowe’s distribution operations in the region. Security measures have been implemented to ensure the safety and integrity of the facility, its employees, and its valuable inventory. Altogether, when considering security personnel, Lowe’s staff, and the dedicated Penske Logistics team, there will be approximately 185 individuals working diligently to uphold the facility’s operational excellence.
