NLR Engineering teaches NLR High School Students Water Quality Monitoring in the Real World

NLR Proud Moment! This week, North Little Rock Engineering Inspector Lyndsey Holloway partnered with North Little Rock High School’s Environmental Science classes, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Stream Team Program, and Keep North Little Rock Beautiful for a hands-on lesson at Shilcotts Bayou in Burns Park.

Students conducted real water quality monitoring, collecting data that will be added to a public stream monitoring map, while also helping protect the waterway by removing 16 bags, nearly 80 pounds, of litter from the creek.

Even better? This was the very first Stream Team event held in North Little Rock. Thank you to our students, partners, and Lyndsey for helping inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. 💧🌿
