North Little Rock CARES Youth Coalition will be hosting its annual “Family Fun Day” on Saturday, August 8, from 10 AM to 2:30 PM at Sherman Park Community Center (624 Beech Street, North Little Rock, 72114).
This event is open to the public. Free backpacks, school supplies, and haircuts will be distributed to our youth. Other activities will include bounce houses, face painting, food trucks, snow cones and more.
This initiative to celebrate and engage families in the North Little Rock community is led by Renee Henson, Sherman Park Community Center Director and North Little Rock CARES Youth Coalition member, who says, “I love serving my community; I’ve been doing it for over 40 years. I never like to see a kid go without, so I make sure our kids have everything they need- from the earrings or haircut down to the shoes. I’ll do whatever it takes to help our families get ready for the start of a new school year.”
Last year, over 800 youth and families attended Family Fun Day with over 20 community partners who donated supplies and services. “The North Little Rock CARES Youth Coalition is about bringing people, organizations, and resources together to make a positive difference in the lives of our youth.
