NLR Electric Teams with Today’s Power, Inc. to Develop Solar Site

North Little Rock Electric Department Teams with Today’s Power, Inc. to Develop 5MW Solar Site

North Little Rock, Arkansas…Following a receipt of multiple proposals, North Little Rock Electric Department (NLRED) selected Today’s Power, Inc. (TPI) to spearhead the development of a 5MW solar project. On July 24, 2023, the North Little Rock City Council approved Resolution 23-144 instructing NLRED to enter into a contract with TPI.  This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of sustainable energy solutions for the North Little Rock community.  As stated in the resolution, while the pricing provided by TPI was most favorable, the selection of TPI was due to project deliverability, system design and equipment, along with the operational assurances to support the project.  Mayor Terry Hartwick, of North Little Rock stated “The partnership between North Little Rock and Today’s Power, Inc (TPI) positions the North Little Rock Electric Department as one of the leading municipal owned utilities in the state. North Little Rock Electric boasts a renewable energy portfolio that includes hydropower, solar power and methane gas. We are committed to embracing renewable energy at affordable rates for our city. TPI’s history of providing comprehensive operational support for its facilities and extensive experience in working in Arkansas communities was a huge factor in selecting TPI.

“Today’s Power, Inc. is excited about working with NLRED to provide 5MW of solar generation.  Construction on the solar site is scheduled to commence in September 2023, with the solar site expected to be operational in 2024. Today’s Power, Inc believes the benefits of this collaboration will directly impact the energy sustainability goals of North Little Rock, while also creating jobs, economic benefits, and providing competitive energy pricing.  TPI is excited to bring another solar project to the communities of Arkansas.” Said Derek Dyson, President/CEO of Today’s Power, Inc.
