SUMMER ACTIVITIES PROGRAMS

“Today’s Growing Youth, Tomorrow’s Well Rooted Adult”

North Little Rock Parks and Recreation (NLRPR) wants to help your child grow to become a strong independent adult.

Like a sapling and a tree, youth require encouragement, nourishment and skills to grow into a strong well rooted adult.

It is our goal to offer the youth of North Little Rock and surrounding communities this chance by providing the necessary encouragement, skills and nourishment during the summer months through the NLRPR Summer Activity Programs (SAPling). Your child will have the opportunity to grow physically and emotionally. Boys and girls going into the 1st thru 8th grades in the fall will participate daily in fun and safe recreation activities such as sports, nutrition, STEM, and creative arts.

  • Youth (entering 1st – 8th Grades in the Fall)

Available at North Heights Community Center, Glenview Community Center,  Rose City Community Center, and Sherman Park Community Center.  Each center will be host to each focus camp throughout the summer. Swimming will be offered weekly.  Field trips will be taken each session.

Available at Rose City Community Center only (transportation will not be provided).  The center will be host to focus camps throughout the summer.  These students will delve into each Focus Camp on a secondary learning level: participate in activities outside of the community center (community projects, extra field trips, etc.) and learn team building and leadership skills. Swimming will be offered weekly.  Field trips will be taken each session.

Each camp will concentrate on more specific skills and techniques of various activities.  Transportation between centers will be available. Host centers will vary by camp. Must bring your own lunch.
