City employees and immediate family members can enroll and receive 5 percent off tuition at the University of Arkansas System eVersity. The UA System eVersity is a new 100 percent-online university created by the UA System to fill a need for busy, adult learners who would like to complete their degree. At $165 per credit hour, classes are already affordable and the discounted rate for city employees adds even more value to completing a degree. The low tuition rate is also the only cost for students – there are also no fees, expensive books, and it is free to apply. With seven start dates per year, there are several opportunities throughout the year to get started. Once applied, students begin a free onboarding class, worth one college credit at no cost. During this time the institution acquires your high school and college transcripts and provides you with the tools necessary to succeed. Also during this course, a financial plan will be discussed and academic success advisors will perform a degree audit to let you know exactly where you stand on your degree path.
