Held annually, this holiday event features stunning light displays, live entertainment, holiday markets, and family-friendly activities. Visitors can enjoy the dazzling lights, listen to carolers, take photos with Santa, and savor seasonal treats from local vendors. The event aims to bring the community together in the spirit of the holidays, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere that enchants residents and visitors alike. A free holiday event for all ages, Northern Lights will have a holiday market; photos with Santa (Black Santa ARK LLC); live music by Bad Habit; a special guest DJ; and North Little Rock’s 38-foot Christmas tree. Food trucks as well as Flyway Brewing will have food and drinks available for purchase. For mixed drinks or more food options, restaurants and bars within the Argenta Outdoor Dining District allow patrons to order to-go beverages to consume within dining district boundaries, which include Argenta Plaza.

The weekend of the festival will be busy with more holiday fun in North Little Rock: within walking distance of the festival at the corner of Bishop Lindsey Avenue and Magnolia Street, Piccolo Zoppé’s Winter Circus presented by North Little Rock Tourism will perform November 23 through December 8. Mayor Terry Hartwick along with several North Little Rock children will light the City’s Christmas tree in Argenta Plaza this Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. Accompanying Mayor Hartwick again this year are members of Girl Scout Troops 6115 from North Little Rock. The Girl Scout Troop along with members of the North Little Rock Kiwanis Club and First Assembly of God in North Little Rock will be collecting non-perishable food to share with those in need in our community. The community is invited to attend the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season and bring non-perishable food items to donate to those in need.

The North Little Rock Public Library System (NLRPLS) is pleased to announce its participation in the annual Arkansas PBS Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive. Inspired by Fred Rogers, who began this drive in 1997 to foster a spirit of neighborly kindness, this initiative provides a way for everyone to help those in need during the winter season.

From November 1 through November 30, we invite the public to donate new or gently-used cold-weather clothing to support The Van, a local organization dedicated to assisting unsheltered individuals in our community. NLRPLS joins Arkansas PBS and libraries across the state in this effort to collect sweaters and winter clothing items, which will be donated exclusively to The Van. Needed items include sweaters, coats, hoodies, flannels, hats, scarves, gloves, and other cold-weather essentials.

Donations can be made at the following locations:

• William F. Laman Public Library – 2801 Orange St.
• Argenta Public Library – 420 Main St.
• Rover (Mobile Library) – Various locations
• Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub – 204 E. 4th St.

In addition, NLRPLS is hosting a series of free charity knitting and crochet workshops for community members who wish to create handmade items to contribute to the drive:

• Argenta Hook Hounds: Crochet for a Cause – Wednesday, November 6, 1:00 – 5:00 PM at Argenta Library
• Knitting Loom: Hats for the Homeless – Monday, November 18 at 5:00 PM and Wednesday, November 20 at 10:00 AM at Laman Library

These free workshops are open to all skill levels, and materials will be provided for those who need them. As a special incentive, participants who knit the most hats for donation by December will be entered to win a Michael’s gift card.
