New Traffic Pattern and Weekend Detour Scheduled for Interstate 30 Eastbound in Little Rock and North Little Rock:

Phase 3 of I-30 Arkansas River Bridge Opening Begins November 1

PULASKI COUNTY | October 31, 2024

Opening all lanes on the Interstate 30 (I-30) eastbound Arkansas River bridge will require a detour with traffic impacts over the weekend of November 1-4 in Little Rock and North Little Rock, weather permitting.  This is the third and final phased traffic shift planned in order to transition traffic into its final alignment. Eastbound traffic is encouraged to find an alternate route during the duration of the detour.

Construction on I-30 will require a closure of all eastbound lanes with detours from 10 p.m., Friday, November 1 through 5 a.m., Monday, November 4. This work will not impact I-30 westbound.

Phase 3 Weekend Detour

The following detour will take place over the weekend of November 1-4:

• I-30 eastbound and I-630 eastbound to I-30 eastbound traffic will be detoured onto the northbound frontage road in Little Rock (Exit 140)
• Traffic will continue onto the northbound frontage road and use the 4th Street on-ramp to return to the I-30 eastbound river bridge; I-30 eastbound will be reduced to one lane when crossing the river bridge
• Crossing the river, traffic will take the Broadway Street exit (Exit 141) in North Little Rock. The traffic signal at Broadway Street will be modified to allow a free flow of traffic off and on I-30 eastbound; Broadway Street traffic will be detoured to Riverfront Drive and
  N. Locust Street in North Little Rock
• Traffic will continue onto N. Locust Street and take the Bishop Lindsey Avenue on-ramp to return to I-30 eastbound

The following new traffic patterns will take place after the weekend of Phase 3:

• There will be a total of six lanes on the I-30 eastbound river bridge
• Traffic must decide to exit to Broadway Street BEFORE crossing the river bridge; to access Broadway Street, traffic will use the right lane; to continue on I-30 eastbound, traffic will use the three left lanes

Advance Notice

Full Closure of Riverfront Drive Scheduled in North Little Rock

PULASKI COUNTY | December 14, 2023

Construction on the new Interstate 30 westbound river bridge in North Little Rock will require a full closure of Riverfront Drive from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 20.

Crews will close Riverfront Drive between Pine and Olive Streets in North Little Rock. Westbound traffic will detour north on Pine Street, west on Broadway Street, and south on Poplar Street. Eastbound traffic will detour north on Poplar Street, east on Broadway Street, and south on Riverfront Drive.

PULASKI COUNTY | March 25, 2024 (NR 24-089)

Highway 67 northbound traffic in Jacksonville will shift onto new pavement overnight from 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 through 5 a.m. Thursday, March 28.

Weather permitting, crews will shift Highway 67 northbound traffic between Main Street (Exit 9) and Vandenberg Boulevard (Exit 11A) from the existing main lanes onto new pavement adjacent to the Highway 67 southbound lanes.

Highway 67 northbound traffic will periodically be detoured to use the frontage road during any main lane closures required to make the shift. See detour map NR 24-089-A for more information.

Highway 67 northbound traffic detour:

• Take Exit 9 (Main Street)
• Continue along TP White Drive
• Take the Highway 67 on-ramp north of Vandenberg Boulevard

In addition, the Highway 67 southbound Exit 9 ramp (Main Street) will close indefinitely beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 27.

Traffic will use the newly re-opened Highway 67 southbound Exit 10A (N. James Street) ramp to access Main Street. See detour map NR 24-089-B for more information.

Traffic will be controlled with message boards, traffic drums, and detour signs. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours. 

This project (Job CA0604) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 2.5 miles of Highway 67 to six lanes, between Main Street (Exit 9) and Vandenberg Boulevard (Exit 11) in Jacksonville. The project also includes improvements at the James Street interchange (Exit 10A), the Gregory Street Interchange (Exit 10B), the Vandenberg Boulevard interchange (Exit 11), and conversion of the Frontage roads from two-way to one-way.
