SUMMARY:Family Fun Day
DESCRIPTION:North Little Rock CARES Youth Coalition will be hosting their annual “Family Fun Day” on Saturday\, August 9 from 10AM-3PM at Sherman Park Community Center (624 Beech Street\, North Little Rock\, 72114). This event is open to the public. Free backpacks\, school supplies\, and haircuts will be distributed to our youth. Other activities will include bounce houses\, face painting\, food trucks\, snow cones and more. This is initiative to celebrate and engage families in the North Little Rock community is led by Renee Henson\, Sherman Park Community Center Director and North Little Rock CARES Youth Coalition member\, who says\, “I love serving my community; I’ve been doing it for over 40 years. I never like to see a kid go without\, so I make sure our kids have everything they need- from the earrings or haircut down to the shoes. I’ll do whatever it takes to help our families get ready for the start of a new school year.” Last year\, over 500 youth and parents attended Family Fun Day with over 20 community partners who donated supplies and services. \n\n\n\nIf you or your organization would like more information on this event\, including how to volunteer or how to donate services and/or supplies for our youth\, please contact Renee Henson (501-340-5373 or rhenson@nlr.ar.gov) or Raúl Fernandez (501-313-7203 or raul@seispuentes.org). \n\n\n\n”The North Little Rock CARES Youth Coalition is about bringing people\, organizations\, and resources together to make a positive difference in the lives of our youth.
