In honor of 9-1-1 Education Month\, National Telecommunicator Week and Smart911 Day (April 30)\, public safety officials in North Little Rock are encouraging residents to sign up for Smart911\, a free service that allows individuals and families to complete a profile so that 9-1-1 dispatchers have access to vital information during an emergency. Residents are invited to create a Smart911 Profile for their household at www.smart911.com or on the Smart911 App. \n\n\n\nSmart911 enables the collection and sharing of critical background information so that when a citizen makes an emergency call\, their Safety Profile is automatically displayed to the 9-1-1 call taker who can then send the right response teams to the right location with the right information. Residents can decide what information to make available in their Smart911 Safety Profile to enhance first responder situational awareness including:• Emergency contact information• Medical history\, including medications\, medical equipment and medical conditions• Property layouts\, access points and utility information• Number of people and pets on the property \n\n\n\n“When an emergency call comes in\, dispatchers and first responders are tasked with responding as swiftly as possible. The more information we have to do that\, the better and quicker an emergency response will be\,” said Kim Francisco\, Director of Emergency Services in the City of North Little Rock. “Smart911 helps us to know more about the individuals involved in an emergency so that we can arrive on scene ready to take action. Every resident in North Little Rock should consider making a profile so that if an emergency ever occurs\, they can feel confident that 9-1-1 professionals and first responders have information that helps to inform a rapid\, successful response.” The Smart911 tool has been credited with positively impacting emergency response in communities around the country. Smart911 is private and secure; it is only used for emergency responses and only made available to the 9-1-1 system in the event of an emergency call. DESCRIPTION:Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum will be hosting our annual Pops on the River fireworks fundraiser watch party on July 4\, 2023. Tickets are $15 per person and parking passes are $10 (per vehicle – to park inside the sea wall). Tickets can be purchased online using the button below (make an account before selecting number of tickets) or in person during business hours. The museum is located at 120 Riverfront Park Drive in North Little Rock. We have limited seating this year to watch the show from the most patriotic place in Arkansas\, the deck of the USS Razorback Submarine on the Arkansas River. \n\n\n\nWe will have hamburgers/hot dogs\, chips and drinks for sale. We will also offer beer and wine through our donation bar. No outside food or beverages will be permitted. Gates open at 7:00 pm and the fireworks show will begin around 9:30 pm. The parking lot will open late afternoon. \n\n\n\nTickets can be bought online\, be sure to make an account. DESCRIPTION:North Little Rock Tourism to host free\, family-friendly “Christmas in July” July 21 \n\n\n\nPhotos with Santa\, kids’ activities and sneak peek at the upcoming holiday season \n\n\n\nTo highlight the upcoming 2023 holiday season\, North Little Rock Tourism will host “Christmas in July” at Argenta Plaza at 510 Main Street in North Little Rock on Friday\, July 21\, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. \n\n\n\n“Everyone is invited to cool off with us at Argenta Plaza and enjoy a sneak preview of the upcoming holiday season\,” said Erica Warden\, Director of Events. “Besides the usual exciting lineup\, we will be announcing an event new to North Little Rock that we hope will be a big hit in central Arkansas.” \n\n\n\nThe free\, family-friendly event will feature fun holiday-themed activities\, some of which will involve water – so the public is encouraged to dress accordingly. Santa will take a break from his summer vacation to take photos and make sure children are on the right path to the “nice” list. Topdogcatering will be on hand with hot dogs and other refreshments for purchase. \n\n\n\nThe Christmas in July event will coincide with Third Friday Art Walk in the Argenta Arts District\, a free event during which participating locations display art by local artists and participants can have their passports stamped. Attendees are encouraged to attend both events. DESCRIPTION:The Patrick Henry Hays Senior Center in North Little Rock will be closed on Tuesday\, August 8\, 2023 for the installation of new HVAC units funded by the Community Development Block Grant CARES Act (CDBG-CV) program\, which is intended to prevent\, prepare for\, and respond to the spread of COVID-19. According to the American Society of Heating\, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)\, “Ventilation and filtration provided by heating\, ventilating\, and air-conditioning systems can reduce the airborne concentration of SARS-CoV-2 and thus the risk of transmission through the air.” The replacement of HVAC equipment will meet the goals of the CDBG-CV program by improving air quality and air circulation in the Patrick Henry Hays Senior Center.
