Don’t strike out; registration closes August 31st. Games start the week of August 31st with Co-ed League on Monday nights and Men’s League on Thursday nights. This event is open to the public. Free backpacks, school supplies, and haircuts will be distributed to our youth. Other activities will include bounce houses, face painting, food trucks, snow cones and more.

This initiative to celebrate and engage families in the North Little Rock community is led by Renee Henson, Sherman Park Community Center Director and North Little Rock CARES Youth Coalition member, who says, “I love serving my community; I’ve been doing it for over 40 years. I never like to see a kid go without, so I make sure our kids have everything they need- from the earrings or haircut down to the shoes. I’ll do whatever it takes to help our families get ready for the start of a new school year.”

Last year, over 800 youth and families attended Family Fun Day with over 20 community partners who donated supplies and services. “The North Little Rock CARES Youth Coalition is about bringing people, organizations, and resources together to make a positive difference in the lives of our youth. Our efforts include community family fun events, youth job fairs, back-to-school supplies, and so much more because WE CARE ABOUT OUR YOUTH,” says CARES co-facilitator Darrell Montgomery.
