]]> The time for transformation has arrived! Register your 3rd-5th grade girl now for the upcoming season of Girls on the Run featuring the refreshed curriculum ‘Hello, Bold Heart!’ Empower your child to learn valuable life skills through physical activity and running! Program days are Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 PM at the North Heights Community Center.

A current NLRPR membership is required. Registration is $225 and financial assistance is available.

At Girls on the Run, your child will:

  • Build the confidence to be themselves
  • Learn to listen deeply, show empathy, and invite others to speak up, too
  • Learn from mistakes ad persevere using stick-with-it strategies

Your girl deserves the chance to build the confidence to boldly share what is in her heart. Today’s the day to get started!

Open to everyone ages 18 and up, open volleyball takes place every Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at 4800 East 19th Street. It’s $2 for non-members and is included in the North Little Rock Parks and Recreation Membership.

Grab your friends and family and come play this Wednesday! For more information, call the Glenview Community Center at 501-945-2921.

]]> Get your little ones ready for teamwork, active play, and fun with the North Little Rock Parks & Recreation Tiny Tot Basketball & Cheerleading Program! Designed specifically for boys and girls ages 3 and 4, this intro-level league focuses on fundamental skill-building, teamwork, and positive sportsmanship in a fun, supportive environment.

Registration dates are September 5th, 12th, and 19th in person at Glenview Community Center, or you can register online anytime at www.nlrpr.org. Registrations fees are $20 per participant and is open to 3 & 4 year olds (boys and girls) (Note: 4-year olds cannot turn 5 before December 31, 2026)

Tiny Tot Basketball Jamboree is set for Saturday, October 17th and the league begins Saturday, October 24th.

]]> NLR Parks and Recreation’s ASPire Afterschool Program is now taking registrations for youth in kindergarten through fifth grade.

For the  fall semester from August through December, ASPire operates Monday through Thursday from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM and Fridays from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. The program offers exceptional value at just $75 per semester. A current NLRPR membership is required to enroll, which is $15 per year for North Little Rock residents and $20 per year for non-residents. Light meal and snack is provided.

The ASPire Program is available at Glenview Community Center located at 4800 E. 19th St. (501-945-2921), North Heights Community Center at 4701 Allen St. (501-791-8576), and Sherman Park Community Center at 624 N. Beech St. (501-340-5373). Spots fill up quickly, so families are encouraged to secure their child’s place today by registering online at nlrpr.org.

NLRPR  Afterschool Zone is the perfect place for students in 6th–8th grades to learn and have fun in a positive environment daily 3:30pm to 6:30pm. Cost is a one time fee of $40 for access from August 2026 thru May 2027. Must have a NLRPR Membership:  $15/year for NLR Residents.

Afterschool Zone provides Homework Assistance, Sports & Fitness activities, Art, Music & Dance Programs, Computer Lab & Video Games, Field Trips and Special Events. Light meal and snack is provided.

Site locations:  Glenview, North Heights, Sherman Park and Rose City Community Centers. NLRSD will provide transportation from NLR Middle School to the centers.
