2020 Census

Posted on 09/20/2019

Beginning in March, the US Census Bureau will invite households across the country to participate in the 2020 Census.  The census is a headcount of every single person that lives in the United States.

North Little Rock is ready. Committees are formed to ensure we reach everyone.

February 5, 2020, Mayor Joe Smith officially kicked off the 2020 Census in North Little Rock.  Surrounded by scores of Complete Count Committee members, the Mayor wanted to remind our residents how important the Census is.  States receive hundreds of billions of federal dollars per year—dollars guided by census data—that help fund the whole range of federal programs that benefit states, including infrastructure, health care, and the social safety net. This year’s Census is worth over 675 billion dollars, which comes to $3,300 for each resident each year for the next ten years.  Watch the presentation by clicking here.
